A Hunka Hunka Jalfrezi

A couple of months ago Linda and I were eating at the Bangla Fusion restaurant in Much Hoole when she spotted a poster on the wall advertising a curiously titled "Elvis and Curry Night". She declared an interest of course and before we'd finished our Poppadoms she'd handed over the cash for four tickets to this event as "it will make a perfect Father's Day present" for her Dad, Geoff, who likes curry and LOVES Elvis.

The idea of the evening was to enjoy a wonderful meal and then sit and relax to drink whilst being entertained by Lancashire's very own 'The Duke as Elvis'. Here he is :-

The food was excellent and so was the welcome and the atmosphere as it always is at this place and the wine was going down very well too.

Right from the start this guy had the crowd singing along, waving our arms and smiling and drinking more and more.

Eventually this turned into dancing..

and... well... enough said!

Hazel was the first out of the blocks when The Duke set his sights on our table and as the rest of the crowd sat restrained and hoped not to be picked upon, up she got to dance with the main man...

She cut quite a move on the floor I can tell you!

Back in the safety (for Elvis that is!) of her seat the levels of participation from around the table ere destined to continue and to develop.

Geoff was not going to be left out and started to sing along. No really!! He DID actually sing along...

I'd had one or two nice cold pints of Stella by now to a) alleviate the heat of the day and b) alleviate the heat of the curry and so there was no way that I was going to be a wall flower..

Two verses in and Elvis realised his mistake... Those of you that know me well won't be surprised that the mixture of beer and music soon got a hold of me... Uh Huh!

Still... Geoff wasn't going to take this competition lying down! Sitting down, yes!

As they didn't have a 'Vegas' suit big enough to fit me I had to make do with fancy lights...

It was a great evening! We really enjoyed the meal and the wine (and beer) and the show was first class. A true entertainer that got the audience involved from the first beat to the last.

Thank You Very Much!
